Shabby Chic Rocking Horse

Sometimes I don't feel like working on furniture. That doesn't happen very often, but it does occasionally. When my husband brought this rocking horse home I thought "what the heck do you want me to do with that?" lol.

But I'm convinced on it now, it looks great! If I had a bedroom big enough I think it would look good in the corner under the window...

I'm sure my younger sister used to have one of these glide rockers because it seemed very familar. The great thing about these ones is they glide back and forth horizontally, it doesn't tip backwards and forwards like traditionally rockers. Surely that makes them safer for the little ones?

Mahogany Buffet Unit

We've had this buffet unit for a long time. Recent we have renovated our house so it was time for a fresh new look! Do you love it as much as me?!!

(Sorry, I forgot to get a proper before photo on this one).

I stripped back the top completely to bare wood, then re-stained in a deep, warm brown before putting on several layers of gloss varnish. The unit was painted in a lovely blue colour and faux-aged. This will now act as a centre piece in our living room, against a pale blush coloured wall (ignore the wallpaper in the photo).

Shabby chic Kitchen chairs

These are just adorable!

They were painted in Lakeside Blue to match my existing kitchen, but the walls are in the same colour and now theres too much blue going on. So instead of repainting them, I'll on-sell and paint a new set...this time in white.

A few layers of pale pink and yellow was painted under the blue so the colours could peek through when the blue top coat was rubbed back. They look great!
